What is vintage clothing?
When we talk about vintage clothing, we refer to garments that are between 20 and 100 years old (or more) that are still used in everyday life and retain their original features and durability.
It differs from retro in that the latter is inspired by past eras but is made in the present day.
Where to find vintage clothing in Santiago de Compostela?
Despite being a relatively small city, unlike Madrid with its Malasaña district, Santiago de Compostela has several quality vintage stores.
Among these are:
Kaméleon Vintage
As the most recent vintage store in Santiago de Compostela, Kaméleon Vintage has made a name for itself thanks to its central location and its variety and novelty of products.
It is a store with a physical location (next to the famous Plaza Galicia) but also has a website where you can place orders, make reservations, check out offers, view items before buying them, and see daily updates (starting from 9:00 PM).
If you are interested in visiting both the website and the physical store, here are the links:
- Kaméleon Vintage
- We also have an article explaining how the company was founded.
Flamingos Vintage Kilo
This store is a bit different from the usual style because here, prices are not set per clothing item but per weight of the garment.
As soon as you enter, a large sign shows the prices for each “kilo of clothes,” divided into three categories:
Vintage clothing prices:
- 13 €/KG
- Usually heavier items like leather jackets, pants, etc.
- 24 €/Kg
- Includes tracksuits, skirts, sports shirts, etc.
- 39 €/kg
- Includes lighter items like short-sleeve shirts, blouses, etc.
Here’s the website where you can browse the items, but we recommend visiting the store to appreciate its decoration.

Outlet Vintage Área Central
Returning to the classic store style where you pay per item rather than by weight, we find Outlet Vintage located in one of Santiago de Compostela’s two shopping centers, in this case, Área Central.
Like the others, this vintage store in Santiago de Compostela offers fairly competitive prices but has a more limited selection compared to the previous stores, with an offer exclusively for women.
Naftalina Tienda Vintage
What started as a hobby has become one of the oldest vintage clothing stores in Santiago de Compostela.
This store began as a pastime for its owner, who does not have fixed hours, operating with “Mornings: Yes. Afternoons: ?. Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays: Occasionally.”
Therefore, we recommend visiting the store in the morning, as it is likely to be closed if you go after lunch.
- Here’s an article that provides more information about the store’s history and its owner.
